Pedicures :):) sanitation

There are a lot of places out there that do not go through the proper steps to sanitize their pedicure basins, chairs etc.. If you are un sure if they do the proper procedures, just simply ask what kind of EPA-registered hospital disinfectant they use. If they do not know what that is, thats a sign that they do not use one.

these should contain

• Disinfectant
• bactericide
• virucide
• fungicide
  

Our spa uses mainly O.P.I. products so we two cleaners one that gets residue off the spa and makes the apperance clean that one is called - O.P.I. spa clean the one that we use that sanitizes everything and cleans everything is called - Spa Complete this is just a tip if you are at a " sketchy" nail salon and want to know if they properly clean their spas also it should be cleaned in between every client ! and the cleaner should run through the jets for at least 5-10 min to kill everyting that could be living in there.

I have always said man they really need a makeup line for this, it would be great !!

so as you know im a youtube beauty wanna be guru ha-ha


well the reason i started my youtube account was to enter makeup contests, and so far i have won two and gotten honorable mentions in many.

now im not writing this blog to brag

i want to let you guys know how fun and rewarding it is to enter these contests especially if they are video response

you usually get a lot of nice things if you win, and really it costs you nothing but your time.


Im off on mondays so when i have no plans i look at the people im subscribed to and see if there are any contests i can enter. I put my favorite music on and then go to town working on the "winning" look.

product of the day Earthly Body

Today is more like PRODUCTS of the day

there is a line of moisture products i found about three years ago at a hairshow and have been using them ever since.

Earthly Body is the company and they have some great products

my favorites are the glow oil
- hemp seed, coconut, soy, apricot, avocado, jojoba and vitamin E

Hand and Body Lotion
-hemp with jojoba, shea butter, and argan oil from Morocco

Shave Cream
-Hemp Seed, Wheat Germ, and Ginseng



all these products are so rich and moisturizing and have really helped my extreme dry skin




the scent is fabulous and the one i like the most is skinny dipping

So today's product of the day is one of my favorite highlighters of all time.

I love this product because it has so many uses

Mix with liquid foundation for all over glow

Dab under brow bone for eye highlight

So I'm going to try to do a blog everyday about a product. It will either be products I love or ones I hate.


This product I'm talking about today i have been using for years now and can be found any drug store or wall mart.

What are some of the uses ???

Beauty blender not your normal sponge

So recently I purchased my first beauty blender sponge

What is a beauty blender ??
It's a makeup sponge that does not soak up foundation and gives you a great blended flawless coverage.

I have had mine for a month now and i have used it everyday. I even have been using them on clients and everyone goes out and buys one after because it is that AMAZING!

Pros
Goes on flawless
Do not waste makeup
Gets in hard to reach places ( under eyes nose etc)
Has a opposite end for concealer
Can be used With lose minerals

Cons
Must be used wet
Gets dirty fast
Does not last forever
Kind of pricey for sponge

This is a product where the pros definitely outweigh the cons and i highly recomend it.

Fun fact i was watching the abc family show Greek and Ashley, one of the sorority girls on there was using the beauty blender to put on her makeup in this episode! They are definitely well known in the media.

I love wearing simple up dos to enhance outfits

This is perfect for that or a formal event

1. Curl hair mine was curled with 1/2 inch hot tools iron
2. Tease the curl ( take a strand of curl and push curl up to break it up)
3. Fluff up curls
4. Take strands half way back and Bobby pin whatever way works for you
5. Lots of hairspray

Hard candy for teens

So hard candy is a makeup brand sold at wall mart

I have used quite a few of these products and here is my conclusion


The hard candy products are definitely geared towards teens and a younger demographic. This is great because there are very few makeup brands for teens.

The products I love of theirs are their eyeliners regular colors and all the other fun colored eyeliners they have. They also have glitter eyeliners which are pretty cool.

My favorite product is their fox in box blush highlight contour quads they remind me a lot of benefit cosmetics boxed blushes.

The only product I have used and did not like of theirs was the gel glitter eyeshadow I used it over top of an eyeshadow and it just created a big gooey mess.


Pros great price
Great pigmentation
Fun for teens

Cons Gel/cream eyeshadows not great

Myrtle Beach Hairshow

Hey everyone so i know im posting a lot of blogs today but i have been slacking on my blogging so today starts the new day of my blog obsession !!

anyway my salon and i just got back from the Myrtle Beach Hair Show

now im sure a lot of you are asking what the heck is a hair show
its a really cool event usually hosted by a beauty supply company in our case it was Salon Centric.
There are tons and tons and tons of vendors and classes set up to see new products and further your education.

I usually spend way to much money at these things because they always have great deals on products and always get free stuff.

fot example this year Mirabella makeup ( new obsession) had so many deals
I bought a pressed powder foundation
a conceler
and liquid foundation and for free i got
a primer and bronzer full size and then a sample mascara
as well as and awesome cloth bag that i can now carry my makeup to shoots with


then a lot of companies were giving away makeup bags, shirts, key chains, products etc when you bought a certain amount of products.


every year there is always a WOW product that everyone has to have !! ha-ha
last year it was the CHI orbit curling iron ( and im obsessed with mine still)

this year it was a volumizing spray from Alterna
the actual name of it is Alterna Bamboo volume root blast

this stuff is amazing i have verry thick hair but sometimes because its so thick it gets weighed down and i don't have a lot of body. I usually cut short layers to give me more body but im currently trying to let me hair grow.
this stuff is so neat you spray it in and fluff it up with your hands and it looks like you have teased your whole head when you are finished.
Also the smell is fantastic
it leaves no sticky waxy feeling after and for me that is the best part



the class we went to was a Sexy Hair cutting class, although im not a hairdresser i still learned a lot from this class.



all in all it was a successful and informative hair show and we can't wait until the one next year.

This one is from a "candy" contest where you had to do a look for a candy that inspired you, My inspiration was the fruit stripe zebra gum :) ( the one in center)

the one on the right was from a true blood contest so i had to make myself look like a vampire :) i used beauty from the earth pigments to do that look
and red cherry lashes





the picture on the left is from a contest that is still going on. I had to do a look the reminded me of summer and nothing reminds me of summer more then the ocean. So i transformed myself into a fish/mermaid. the contest isn't over yet so i will let you all know how i did :)

my take on eyeshadow palletts

So I know everyone always sees all these eyeshadow combo pallets in the stores and online, do they really work ??? how is the pigmentation?? is it worth the money ???

the answer to this is yes and no ha-ha

I have found that most pallets in stores such as wall mart, Kmart, target are kind of slacking on the color payoff and pigmentation of the eyeshadow, blushes, etc.

however i have ordered quite a few of non expensive eyeshadow pallets online and have been very very pleased with their pigmentation and color payoff.

my first success with online pallets was when i ordered the 88 pallet off of www.costalscents.com. It is a pallet with 88 colors and most of them are bright fun colors. I take this pallet with me every where i go and i love it.

pros- great color payoff
under $30 dollars for 88 colors
wide color range

cons- they break really easily if drooped or rustled around


the second great pallet i got is actually from ebay. I bought it from a seller in Honk Kong. The colors are great warm neutrals and i bought this to use on conservative brides. It has 28 colors and all of them are amazing

pros- great pigmentation
28 large eyeshadows
go with everything
do not break easily

cons- took a long time to be delivered




Also another great place to find smaller pallets that work well is too faced cosmetics they have a great natural eye pallet that i carry everywhere i go

Airbrush Makeup

So i splurged a few months ago and bought at DINAIR airbrush makeup system. I am in love with this i have done about five bridal parties with the machine so far this year and everyone is raving about the way it looks and stays on the face. To please a bride is great because we all know they are difficult to please sometimes ha-ha. I also get to charge more for the application then regular makeup application which means more money for me YAY !

Pros

1. lasts up to 24 hours without re applying
   
2. feels like you barely have any makeup on
3. flawless coverage
4. does not clog pores
5. feels really nice while applying
   
6. custom shade for each person

Cons

1. actual makeup to put in it is expensive
2. hard to clean
3. sometimes gets clogged
   
4. a lot to carry

the pros definetly out weigh the cons in this case so i do recommend this airbrush machine to anyone thinking about purchasing one.
