But my hair won't fishtail !!??!!

So this blog is for all those shorter hair girls out there !!

(LIKE ME !!!)

So my hair is a little longer then chin length and I love my short hair BUT I can't do the whole braid trend that's going on right now.

We were bored on a long trip and tried and tried to get my hair into a fishtail braid and it just wasn't happening
!

Now here are some options for you with shorter hair

1. French Braid the hair back into kind of pig tales, or braid just a little bit to get bangs out of way, bobby pin and then cover up with other hair

2. My favorite thing to do is to take each side of my part and twist back that hair very tightly. I will bobby pin it in the back under some hair so the hair will hide bobby pin, its a cute easy alternative to braids.

3. Sometimes i will take step 1 or 2 and then pull extra hair into sloppy buns in the back of the hair its a really cute different look.

well hope you liked these little hair tips and good luck

Breakouts ?????

This is for those of you who get the random breakout and its not hormonal or Acne.

I am an estitician and one of the questions i get the most is
"I just got these random pimples and i don't know why ?"

First of all one of the biggest myths about Acne and Breakouts are it happens when you eat to much junk food or chocolate. While eating poorly can be seen of your skin this is not the cause of acne breakouts.

So what does cause these breakouts ?????

First of all Dirt !!! Dirt and bacteria can live pretty much anywhere and if it get in your pores you have yourself a breakout.

Things to check
1. Coat or scarf - If you notice breakouts around your neck and chin and these are not hormonal it could possibly be from a dirty coat or scarf, just simply wash these more often and the breakouts should clear up.
2. Pillow Case and sheets- sometimes this is the cause of sudden breakouts on your face, if you haven't changed your sheets in a while this is a prime place for pores to get clogged.
3. Dirty Makeup brushes-  When i was in college and didn't know that much about skin care i went to get my makep done and told the lady "yeah i just have the same breakouts over and over" She asked me if i used makeup brushes, i told her yes. She then asked how often i cleaned them i looked at her with the deer in the headlights look because i had no idea you were supposed to clean your own makeup brushes. As soon as i got home that night i cleaned them like she said and later that week the breakouts cleared up. Being a makeup artist that story now horrifies me that i didn't know to clean them ha-ha.
4. Touching your face - Have you ever seen people that can't keep their hands off their face, well more then likely these people have breakouts. We touch so much stuff and have so much oil and bacteria on our hands why would you put them all over your once clean face. I wax and always tell people please keep your hands off your newly waxed eyebrows because you can cause irritation and or breakouts. One day i noticed a lady would not stop touching them i asked " do you need more aloe do they sting?" she said no i just like how smooth it is, so i politely asked please stop touching them you will put bacteria back into you pores. She obviously did not listen and came in the next day complaining about the breakout she had. I said sorry but i told you to stop touching your face.

Sometimes if you breakout around your hairline it could be new hair products that you have been using, maybe they are to oily and clog the pores around your forehead and temples.

Another cause of breakouts could be the Makeup you are using, change that and see if it gets any better.

Now again these are not the only causes of breakouts or Acne but they are some of the more common ones.

"well i like her but i can't see her face "

Have you ever felt like this while watching youtube videos ??
well i love her personality but i just wish i could actually see her, its so dark.

Here are a few easy and inexpensive tips i have learned over the past few years.

  1. Natural light is your best friend . Not only does it look amazing in the videos but its FREE !!! only down side is, well unless its summer solstice it gets dark at night .  On great sunny days here is what i do, site my camera on the window ledge and film like that, this way the sun light is behind the camera and its making my face glow with the perfect light
  2.  Proper artificial lighting, i know your thinking this is going to be expensive right ??? WRONG !! what i did was went to home depot and got two painers lamps( the ones in the photo) $6.00 a piece and they clamp on to anything. I have mine clamped to my mirror and then i put my camera on a stand in front of that.
  3. Daylight bulbs for your lamps, i use mind in my painters lamps, but if you have just a floor lamp it would help the lighting in those as well.
  4. Vellum Paper- i use vellum paper and tape it over my painters lamps to help make the lighting look better on film.
  5. Camera- I need a new camera, i would love to have an HD camcorder but for right now i am using my Canon digital camera and it works fine.
  6. have an overhead light on if you have one.

Do you feel like and Alligator ???

I don't know about you but my skin has been feeling very much like an alligator lately ha-ha.

These winter months are notorious for drying us out, with all the heaters going and the wind a whipping everywhere its no wonder.

Here are a few products i have found to help  !

we will start with the face
my #1 moisturizer for my face is philosophy hope in a jar. It does not break me out but is heavy enough to sooth my dryness.

Moving on to the lips
my new favorite lip moisturizer is the Baby Lips- see my blog post on that review

Okay now we will do arms and legs
i love love love the body shops body butter- coconut scented
or Hempz original body lotion- it really hydrates and leaves you with a really clean scent

Hands- Aveda hand relief is amazing, its a really thick hand cream but does not leave you feeling greasy. Also it has a very light scents with a hint of citrus.

Feet- you guessed it Aveda Foot Relief. Just like the hand cream it really hydrates the feet leaving them soft and free of cracks and dry heels. This one has a menthol scent.

so there are all of my hydration recommendations, these all work great for me and hopefully you will love them just as much as i do.

So my review. Well I have mixed reviews. I don't usually use something once and write review about it , but that is what I originally did with this

The fist set I did I read directions and followed them perfectly
I washed my hands 4 or so hours later and a few fell right off. So I disappointed and wrote a review based on that.

A few days went by and i decided to give them another try. So I got the rest out and did my nails and they lasted me 5 days so I am really impressed and maybe the first time was some freak accident.

So they are the PERFECT length

Look adorable

Easy to apply

2nd stayed a long time ( I do nails for a living and they even stayed on with
Me touching acetone )

Not super thick

Keeps shine

Affordable

My only bad thing about these would be the 1st experience with them

My verdict would be. They are fantastic for a special event !!!! Great gifts for any girl any age teen and up

I hope they will be a success !!!!
